The Hi-Winders was formed in 1992 from two constellations; The Hi-Lite Trio

. The Hi-Lite Trio had then existed for a
few years with two different singers; first as Ravin' Joe & the Hi-Lite Trio and
later as Shakin' Lee Taylor & the Hi-Lite Trio.

In the beginning of 1994 they were asked by Tail Records to write a song for the
annual Power Car Meet in Sweden. The song Jan Svensson and Per Thorsell wrote
a wet night at their local hang out "Bröderna Olssons Garlic & Shots" in Stockholm
was "A whote Lotta Power" The song was recorded two weeks later and became a
7" single b/w "Bloodshot" (the no 1 shot at Garlic & Shots) on Hi-Lite Records
(their own label). That summer an alt. version was relaesed together with Go-Getters
contribution to the Power Meet single "Go go to the Power Meet" This single was
handed out in 6000 copies as an entrance ticket!
Later that year the Hi-Lite Racords single spread over Europe and DJ's started
spinning it at clubs. They soon started touring Europe and the first gig abroad was
in Bregenz in Austria. They toured Belgien, Holland, Germany, France and England
in 1994 and -95. The stage show became known as one of the wildest around.

The next record release was a 7" single on Tail Records -95 called "Miss Angel Face
b/w an instrumental called "Skyscraper" (inspired by the view from a hotel in
Frankfurt during a tour).

And from Frankfurt sprung an EP from Witchcraft Rec
just a month later. This German record contained two vocals "Boogie Woogie Feeling"
and "Flea Circus" and two instrumentals "Twin Pipes & a Columbia Butt" and "Indian
Runner" During 1995 they made totally five european tours.

In 1995 they got booked on The Hemsby Festival in England and started to record
a full lentgh record to be released in time for the festival. They recorded the 10"
vinyl in Mobile Mooneye's studio in Enviken, Sweden. The record "The Hi-Winders
are Rockin' With The Rhythm" was released on the French label Lenox Records.

When it was time to release a cd with most of their recordings, they also released
a 7" vinyl single with two unreleased tracks from the Enviken sessions. The tracks
were "Toned In My Bones" and "Dried Eye Baby". The cd "The Hi-Winders Story
was released on Lenox Records in 1997.

At the end of the 20:th century and the beginning of the 21 they played in Italy,
Spain, USA and Sweden. In 2002 they played a 10 year anniversary show in
Stockholm before a packed Debaser Club.

In 2005 ther's a number of gigs booked in Sweden, France and England, and ther's
plans to record a new record in the fall.

10 years

In 2006 the band played in Las Vegas, and that gig ended the original line up. The
bass
player and the drummer left the band. Instead the Hi-Winders signed Micke
Lindewall on electric bass and the drummer "Jugglo" Wall. This new setting was a
egniting spark to the band and soon they were in the studio. After a successful
summer with gigs in Spain and France they recorded
the 7" vinyl single
"Your Line Was Busy" b/w "Gonesville".

The single was released on the very same day the band played together with Jerry
Lee Lewis at Solnahallen in Stockholm. The show was a success and the band
are planning a full lenght album during 2007.

In 2007 the band celebrates 15 years of undisputed rock'n'roll! The celebration
will take place at Debaser in Stockholm on April 30:th. Also celebrating 15 years
is Robert Johnson and Punchdrunks together with friends The Barbwires And Nomads.

In september 2007 th Hi-Winders played in Frankfurt again after 10 years,
followed by gigs in Munich and Bergantino, Italy.
